of the extragalactic stellar mass and 90% of the recent star formation outside of the Local Group out to a distance of 3.3 Mpc and span a range of stellar masses, morphologies, and metallicities. We are generating X-ray point source catalogs for each galaxy and correlating the properties of the X-ray binary populations (such as the X-ray luminosity function) to the host galaxy's star formation rate, thereby providing an observational test of theoretical predictions.
We will first be publishing the X-ray source catalog of NGC 300, with additional papers on the remaining four galaxies forthcoming. Each galaxy hosts 70-190 X-ray point sources, for a total survey sample of up to ∼700 X-ray sources requiring designations.
