2XMMi (2XMM incremental catalogue)
Write:<<2XMMi JHHMMSS.s+DDMMSS>>
N: about 30000
Object:(X)  (SIMBAD class: X = X-ray Source)
Note:In preparation.
The 2XMMi catalogue is a merger of the original 2XMM source detections and detections from the new data. Every entry is a detection (there can be several separate detections of the same unique source on the ky). Unique sources on the sky, comprising groupings of the separate detections, were regenerated from scratch when making the update version. In doing this, most existing 2XMM sources remain the same or have accreted new detection(s) without any ambiguity arising - for these we retain the original 2XMM designation. However, some new unique sources have arisen from alternative re-groupings of existing detections (mainly triggered by the addition of new detections) or from solely new detections and these we propose to designate as 2XMMi.
