Note:We conducted a spectroscopic survey of a proper motion- and X-ray selected sample of stars in the Upper Centaurus Lupus and Lower Centaurus Crux subgroups of the Sco-Cen OB Association. We classified pre-MS stars by (1) FGK spectral types, (2) Li-rich, (3) subgiant gravities, (4) proper motions consistent with subgroup membership, (5) HR diagram positions consistent with being pre-MS. Kinematic distances were calculated using proper motions from the Tycho-2 catalog (Hog, et al. 2000A&A...357..367H) and the moving group solutions for the subgroups from de Bruijne (1999MNRAS.310..585D). The mean ages for these nearby pre-MS stars are 13-19 Myr (UCL subgroup) and 16-21 Myr (LCC subgroup).
A high resolution spectroscopic survey of these stars is scheduled to be completed in June 2002. A mid-IR survey for debris disks is underway using the MIRAC camera at the Magellan I telescope.
Approximately 30 of these pre-MS stars are included in the FEPS SIRTF Legacy program (Meyer et al. team), and will be observed by SIRTF in the first year of observations.
