From Monday 7 - Wednesday 9 April 2008, Euro-VO DCA WP4 organises a workshop on "Theory in the Virtual Observatory". The workshop is directly followed by the workshop on "Grid and the Virtual Observatory", organised by WP5.
The official workshop(s) website is
here
. Below the agenda. The workshop is divided in a number of sessions. The descriptions of these sessions can be found by following the links under the session names.
NB (2008-04-10): the workshop has finished. Over the next few weeks the slides will be uploaded to this page.
PROCEEDINGS: Please note the
NEW DEADLINE. Information on the proceedings can be found at the
bottom of this page.

PROCEEDINGS
The proceedings will be published in the journal Memorie della Societa Astronomica Italiana - Supplementi. The proceedings will be published online and the articles can include color figures.
--- The deadline for submission is October 10th, 2008 ---
The page limits for submitted articles are
- Invited and solicited talks 10 pages,
- contributed talks 6 pages,
- posters 4 pages.
The proceedings will be published online March 2009.
Preparation of your contribution
Please use the compressed archive
theoryVOproceedings.zip, which contains all necessary LaTeX style files and guidelines for preparing your article, including a template LaTeX file. Only articles prepared in LaTeX, using the appropriate style files, can be accepted for publication.
The document class mem.cls has been derived from the document class aa.cls of Astronomy & Astrophysics, with kind permission of EDP Sciences. The style is the same of that of Astronomy & Astrophysics, and the bibliography should be typeset using the package natbib.sty and the style aa.bst. Figures will be only accepted in postscript or encapsulated postscript.
The archive contains the following files:
announcement.txt | This document |
aa.bst, mem.cls, logosa4.eps, natbib.sty | Mandatory style files and logos |
aaguide2006-beta.pdf | A&A author user guide |
mem_demo.tex, pl_eta_6397.eps, plot_li_vhel.eps | Example article |
Submission
Please submit your contribution as zipped or gzipped tar-archive via email to Jens Zuther, jzuther@mpe.mpg.de.
Please make sure that your article compiles correctly before submission. The archive should contain the .tex-file, the corresponding figures, and a PDF file of your article. On Unix/Linux systems you can easily create a PDF file from the DVI file (that results form the compilation with
LaTeX ) using the command dvipdfm.
For the filename of the archive please use lowercase letters and follow the syntax:
_.zip (or .tar.gz), e.g. zuther_j.zip (zuther_j.tar.gz). Please try to keep the size of your submitted file small, though our mail server can handle 20 MB files.
If you have any questions regarding the preparation of your article, please contact Jens Zuther (jzuther@mpe.mpg.de) or Gerard Lemson (Gerard.Lemson@mpe.mpg.de).
The editors will be formed from the Local Organizing Committee for the first screening, and the journal staff for the final editing.
We are looking forward receiving your contribution.
