Details on Acronym:   3XLSS

3XLSS (XXL: the ultimate XMM extragalactic survey)
Write:<<3XLSS JHHMMSS.s+DDMMSS>>
N: 26056  (SIMBAD class: X = X-ray Source)
Note:XXL, the ultimate XMM extragalactic survey (http://irfu.cea.fr/en/Phocea/Vie_des_labos/Ast/ast_technique.php?id_ast=3015) is a large area X-ray survey (with extensive multiwave support) done with XMM-Newton in two areas of 25 deg2 in the opposite hemispheres. The northern area encloses the XMM-LSS survey (previously published as (1)1XLSS 2007MNRAS.382..279P, and 2XLSS(d) 2013MNRAS.429.1652C).

Since XXL uses version 3.3 of the same Xamin pipeline as XMM-LSS, the survey acronym is 3XLSS.

Initially we will publish a batch of papers in a dedicated A&A issue, with a source subset (the 100 brightest clusters and the 1000 brightest AGN) and then gradually release the rest of the catalogue. Database access will occur via site http://cosmosdb.iasf-milano.inaf.it/XXL after paper publication.

Notes:Paper I on XXL (Pierre et al 2015) has just been submitted today and the first batch up to Paper XIII shall follow soon, to appear in a dedicated issue of A&A. So it is time to register this acronym now.
