DSH (Deep Sky Hunters Catalogue) Write:<<DSH JHHMM.m+DDMMA>> N: about 800 Object:?  (SIMBAD class: Unknown = Object of unknown nature) Note:We present a list of previously unknown deep-sky candidate objects (open clusters, diffuse nebulae, planetary nebulae, and galaxies), which were found through visual inspection of DSS and 2MASS images and, in the case of open star clusters, via proper motion analyses using various astrometric catalogues.
The possible existence of these stellar agglomerations is supported by the analysis of proper motions, color-magnitude diagrams, stellar density distributions, and by their visual appearance on DSS and 2MASS images.
We provide positions, sizes of the cluster candidates, as well as preliminary results of the analysis.
The DSH collaboration (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/deepskyhunters) is a group of amateur and professional astronomers founded in June 2003. Its intentions are the discovery of deep sky objects not yet published in professional literature and the improvment of observational data for already known objects. See also Alessi.
