Details on Acronym: JKB | |
JKB | (James Koposov Belokurov) |
Write: | <<JKB NNN>> |
N: | 150 |
Object: | LSB/SBG (SIMBAD class: Galaxy) |
Note: | We have a sample of ∼150 newly discovered dwarf galaxies ("Blue Diffuse Dwarfs"), detected by their morphological properties in the SDSS survey. Each object is a blue, star-forming galaxy, with HII regions embedded within a diffuse continuum. Full details of our project can be found here: http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2015MNRAS.448.2687J |
Notes: | The paper 2015MNRAS.448.2687J lists 12 of our sample with spectroscopic observations. Within this publication they are listed as 'KJ objects' but we have been contacted by Marion Schmitz from NED to say that this acronym was already in use. We are now changing KJ to JKB. Our next paper - in-prep and to be submitted in August 2016 - lists a larger sample of 50. We expect the sample to grow, as we use our detection algorithms on new survey data (e.g. DES in the southern hemisphere). |
