MAT (Mobile Anisotropy Telescope survey)
Write:<<MAT Na>>
N: 6+4
Object:(mm)  (SIMBAD class: mmRad = Millimetric Radio Source)
Stat:is completely incorporated in Simbad
Note:The Mobile Anisotropy Telescope is a multi-frequency mm-wavelength experiment which mapped a large region of the Galactic plane as a secondary goal to measuring the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation.
Several bright regions of interest to radio astronomers were mapped with low resolution giving the first large scale images of this region in these wavelengths.
The bright regions are somewhat irregular shaped but well defined clouds comprised of clusters of known point sources and diffuse emission.
Since these regions are irregular in shape, defining coordinates for each is impractical. So some regions are resolve into distinct sub-regions with decreasing wavelength. For these objects the letters 'a' and 'b' are used. (Nos 1-6, 5a-5b, 6a-6b).
