Details on Acronym: SECCO | |
SECCO | (StEllar Counterparts of COmpact high velocity clouds) |
Write: | <<SECCO N>> <<SECCO -LSB-VAN>> <<SECCO -LSB-U1>> <<SECCO -dI-N>> |
N: | 6+1+2 |
Object: | Poss. LSB Dwarf G + Dwarf Irregular G (SIMBAD class: Unknown = Object of Unknown Nature) |
Note: | The searching for StEllar Counterparts of COmpact high velocity clouds (SECCO) survey is devoted to the search for stellar counterparts within ultra compact high velocity clouds that are candidate low-mass, low-luminosity galaxies. Format -LSB-VAN: for Low Surface Brightness dwarf candidates, the format may contain a V indicating the likely association with the Virgo cluster, the letter of the SECCO field where the galaxy has been found (fields C, D and X) and a number to distinguish between dwarfs lying in the same SECCO field. Format -dI-N: for dwarf irregular galaxies. For more information, visit http://www.bo.astro.it/secco/SECCO/homepage.html |
