THOR | (THirty-two ORi) |
Write: | <<THOR NNA>> |
N: | 47 |
Object: | * in Assoc. (SIMBAD class: Star) |
Note: | As proposed by Bell, Murphy & Mamajek (2017MNRAS.468.1198B), we wish to register the abbreviation THOR <NN>(=THirty-two ORi) to label members of the 32 Orionis Moving Group. Bell+17 has already labelled THOR 1-41 and we recently submitted a manuscript to MNRAS describing the discovery of another member which we denote THOR 42. There is a history of short, useful acronyms being assigned to members of nearby young associations (e.g. TWA, RECX, ECHA, EpsCha). |
